Geshe Samten's Puja Service

Geshe Samten has kindly offered for people to sponsor a puja undertaken by him. Pujas can be offered for yourself, or your family and friends, for the success of projects and activities, for health or for when someone has died, as well as other reasons.

The following pujas are currently being offered, but Geshe Samten is happy to offer others such as incense pujas if requested.
  • Medicine Buddha - helps to clear and avert obstacles due to sickness and recent decease
  • Tara - for personal difficulties, health problems, and especially when there is need for quick wisdom action.
  • Lama Chopa - for general good fortune
If you would like to sponsor a puja, or discuss a particular one, please email spc@landofjoy.co.uk with the following details:
  • Puja requested
  • Name of person or project to be dedicated for
Donations are encouraged and payment details can be provided when a request is made.

Woodland News

The last couple of months has seen vistas around us start to open up, particularly in our higher woodland and ravine, as trees were felled and rhododendrons removed by both professional contractors and incredibly hard working volunteers.

A deer monitoring process has also begun with the erection of 5 x 4 metre X     4 m deer exclosures, so we can check any effect deer browsing is having on the regeneration of our broad leaved trees and shrubs. The exclosures needed to be robust enough to withstand 5 years of stormy weather.

October Woodland Working Week

If you are physically fit (don’t need to be young), happy to work outside in cold weather and would like to spend a week or even a weekend helping to restore Land of Joy's ancient woodland, there is plenty more work to be done and we'd love to have you here to give us a hand!

We can guarantee you will get muddy, possibly wet and perhaps chilly, but you will have had a wonderful workout in a stunning landscape. We will provide tasty, filling vegetarian food, hot showers and a comfortable bed while our boiler room serves as a useful drying room so outdoor gear is dry & toasty for the following day. A roaring open fire is a must after a hard day working in the woods.

Please email Beth through manager@landofjoy.co.uk to let us know you'd like to come.

Osel's White Tara

During Osel's visit to Land of Joy in January he asked Ray to paint a White Tara for the centre, saying if anyone arrives here with a negative mind, seeing White Tara will bless their mind, making it positive.

Here's Ray making great progress drawing Tara's essential pencil outline before painting begins. We'll keep you updated as the painting continues to come together.

Many thanks as always to all our supporters who help us in so many ways.

Keep Rejoicing!
