As we celebrate Losar, the Tibetan New Year, we invite you to join us in an opportunity for generosity and merit-making that will benefit yourself and countless others.
Losar marks the beginning of a new cycle in the Tibetan calendar—a time of purification, renewal, and especially potent spiritual practice. According to Buddhist teachings, the merit (positive karma) generated through virtuous actions during this period is multiplied many times over. It’s an auspicious time to engage in generous acts that support the flourishing of the Dharma.
Land of Joy has been a sanctuary of authentic Buddhist study and practice in the UK for the past decade, offering transformative retreats and teachings that help people discover their innate wisdom and compassion. This Losar, we’re reaching out with a special request for support to continue this vital work.
“The sun of real happiness shines in your life when you start to cherish others.”Â
For the past decade, our dining room has been a cherished space where countless retreatants have shared wonderful meals together. We’ve recently injected some extra love into the space by painting the walls a lovely two-tone green that beautifully echoes the stunning countryside just outside our windows. Speaking of windows, the new ones in the dining room, gompa, and one of the volunteer rooms upstairs are keeping us warmer – no more drafts!
