About the Retreat
Compassion, bodhicitta and the wisdom understanding emptiness are among the most important aspects of the Buddhist path to enlightenment. This retreat offers an opportunity to explore how these profound qualities can be developed and how they strengthen and support one another.
As our compassion for others grows, so too can the courage of bodhicitta – the aspiration to attain enlightenment in order to benefit all beings. When this is combined with an understanding of emptiness, the ultimate nature of reality, these powerful states of mind become an even stronger foundation for our spiritual practice.
Geshe Namdak will guide us in exploring how we can cultivate these qualities within our own minds, drawing on rare and precious instructions from Dagpo Thangdar Lama’s Hidden Instructions on Bodhicitta and Changkya Rolpai Dorje’s Experiential Song on the View.

What Will be Offered?
Through teachings, meditation and opportunities for questions and discussion, we will explore the relationship between compassion, bodhicitta and the view of ultimate reality.
The retreat will include:
- Developing and strengthening compassion for others
- Understanding bodhicitta and the courage behind the aspiration for enlightenment
- Exploring emptiness and the Buddhist view of ultimate reality
- Understanding how bodhicitta and the wisdom realising emptiness support and strengthen one another
- Practical guidance for cultivating these constructive states of mind
- Teachings drawing on Hidden Instructions on Bodhicitta and Experiential Song on the View
- Guided meditation and opportunities for Q&A with Geshe Namdak
